In summer you can go for long hikes in the alps and some of these tours are leading up to 2.000 meters above the sea. There are some easy half day tours for beginners, but also all-day tours for trained ones are easy to reach.
From the near Patscherkofel an exciting panorama over the tyrolean alps and the Inntal is presented to you.  [Webcam] The Zirbenweg, a well known hiking path above Innsbruck, is very easy to reach with the Patscherkofel-cabelcar.

Heiligwasser, a fantastical situated alpine restaurant, with a delicious view, which can hardly be topped.
For generations the family Thurnbichler is the tenant of his restaurant. Peter, the boss, is well known for his jokes by the denizens.
In Winter, when enough snow has fallen, Peter prepares the toboggan run for his guests personally.
If you are on way in winter per feet or with the sledge, you should visit the Tea-hut, which is directly situated beside the was to Heiligwasser.


The real brave ones of you will take the chance to drive in the olympic bob run in Igls. (

Near the TPZ the Lanser See is situated, this is a very lovely and well known lake, which can be used in summer for a swimming trip and in winter it is very beautiful to go for ice skating there as well. (
In Innsbruck there are also a lot of additional indoor and outdoor spare time posibilities.


In winter, you can indulge in downhill and cross-country skiing in and around Innsbruck, or sledging on the slope just around the corner.
The skiing-region Patscherkofel above the roofs of Innsbruck is the place of the Olympic games 1964 and 1976. Enjoy and have fun on olympic- and worldcuptested skiing slopes for all levels of difficulties.

In Innsbruck, the Tyrolean capitol, europeans highest situated zoo, with more than 2000 animals from different species from the whole alps, can be visited.
About 1500 animals, including birds, woodpeckers, owls, raven, craws, beared vulture, european otters, bears, wolves, foxes, wildcats, lynxs, ibexs, red deers, chucks and arctic hares. In the world largest cold water aquarium 50 native sorts of fishes are shown. Also very interesting is the aqua-terrarium and the outdoor installation for reptiles.
The Alpenzoo in Innsbruck has opened during the whole year and is known as an adventure-, education-, research- and nature-reservation animal park.

Innsbruck also offers a lot of sightseeing possibilities.

The city offers art treasures and is famous for buildings such as the Golden Roof, the Hofburg and Ambras castle. It combines tradition and modernity: city strolls and mountaineering, Baroque operas and folklore music,Tuxedos and Lederhosen. All important eras – from the Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance to the kk monarchy – take the visitors on a journey back in time. Lovers of modern art will find plenty of galleries and special exhibitions here for a rewarding visit. It’s the diversity that makes Innsbruck interesting.
